The presentation touched very compelling, hot topic in shipping industry and stimulated a vivid discussion among members of the Club afterwards.

Cyprus Marine Club held a fascinating presentation by Dr Christodolou –Varotsi, Lloyd ‘s Maritime Academy Course Director/ Trainer and Executive Advisor Oil Spill Consultants Advisory Response ( OSCAR Pty Ltd, South Africa), entitled “Recent Findings stemming from Port State Control”. The presentation touched very compelling, hot topic in shipping industry and stimulated a vivid discussion among members of the Club afterwards.

On 19/02 Cyprus Marine Club organized its 2nd presentation of the year entitled “Aframax Tankers powered by LNG” by Oleg Kalinin- Fleet Director at SCF Management Services. In 2018 Sovcomflot started commercial and technical operation of the world's first large-capacity oil tankers using LNG as their primary fuel.

Cyprus Marine Club organized its Big Summer Interview with Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Mrs. Natasa Pilides, on Tuesday the 25th of September at Epsilon, Marina in Limassol.
In his opening statement, Cyprus Marine Club’s President, Captain Eberhard Koch stated that the Deputy Minister for sure has recognized that she can’t change the direction of the wind, but in his opinion, Mrs. Natasa Pilides is the right person to adjust the sails.
