Capt. Koch is the Chairman, CEO and a Partner of Oesterreichischer Lloyd Shipping
Group. He received his diploma in Nautical Sciences (Dipl-Naut.) at Hochschule für Nautik in Bremen (University of Bremen) in 1974. He has extensive industry experience as a Captain, Manager and Owner. From 1977-1984 he served as Manager of Transport / Business Admin for VEBA OEL AG Group (nka EON) and from 1984-2001 he was Managing Director at Krohn Shipping Group in Vienna.

More than 115 Members attended the 6th AGM of Cyprus Marine Club which was held in a fully renovated Marina Beach Bar (now called Gazebo which opened just a couple of days prior to the event).
Capt. Koch, Cyprus Marine Club President's opened the meeting with an annual report updating Members on recent developments, membership statistics, a summary of past events, and future outlooks.

On May 25th, Cyprus Marine Club gathered its Members for the second non virtual event this spring. This time, CMC had the honor to host H.E. Ms Natasa Pilides, who was appointed as Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry last Summer after serving as Shipping Deputy Minister to the President in the years: 2018-2020.

After almost a whole year of not being able to meet due to the circumstances and challenges we are currently experiencing and facing, on the 6th of April 2021, the Cyprus Marine Club organized its First Meeting in 2021 with its members at Epsilon, Limassol Marina, the Home of the Club.

Members of CMC gathered last Saturday at Marina Beach Bar to admire mesmerizing sunset, enjoy delightful company and taste sublime food prepared by PNS Management, as well as celebrate end of summer season. Capt. Koch thanked all for joining despite the controversial corona virus anxiety. We hope to see our members again very soon.

As we entered the Holy Week and prepare to celebrate Easter at our homes with the closest family members only , the world stands united. We are united in uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring, united in not knowing when our societies will withstand the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic, united to feel that we have nowhere to turn as science and knowledge we have developed to this point in the history offers us insufficient solutions.

On the January 21st, Cyprus Marine Club held the first presentation of 2020 by Mr. Giamperio Soncini, CEO at IB Marine.
Mr. Soncini from Italy but currently lives in Limassol, Cyprus.
His main areas of competence include: Information Technology and Communication in shipping.
