The 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of C.M.C.L. Cyprus Marine Club Limited, including the Election to the Board of Directors, took place on Friday, 23rd May 2025, at the Amara Hotel, Limassol.
The President, Capt. E. Koch opened the meeting by announcing the presence of a quorum (71.2%), before presenting the Chairman’s Report, in which he outlined the Club’s recent developments, achievements, and strategic direction. He also highlighted the Club’s significant transition from a non-profit organization to a non-profit company limited by guarantee, describing it as a pivotal structural milestone.
“There are truly no words to fully express how grateful I am that you placed your trust in us and never doubted that the establishment of our new Club, as a non-profit company limited by guarantee, would be a step toward positive change. I sincerely thank you for that trust. Now, 364 days later, I stand before you with full confidence that this transformation has indeed been a change for the better.”
Capt. Koch extended his warmest appreciation to all Members, Sponsors, and Board Members, reaffirming that they are the core pillars of C.M.C.L. – Cyprus Marine Club Limited. He emphasized that maintaining open lines of communication among these pillars—Sponsors, Members, and the Board of Directors—is a priority and a necessity for the Club’s continued strength and cohesion.
He further reported that the Club currently comprises 155 Members, including 96 Corporate Members and 59 Individual Members, collectively representing 372 cardholders.
Capt. Koch also acknowledged the contributions of the membership with the following words:
“Some members contribute sparingly, others generously. Some offer their support quietly, others with a strong and visible presence. Some are hands-on, while others bring forward plans and ideas. Each and every one of you, without exception, is contributing to making CMCL impactful and relevant in Cyprus shipping, one of the most resilient industries we know.”
He concluded his report by reassuring members that no shortcuts are ever taken, as the Club takes great pride in its reputation for quality, meaningful activity, and genuine hospitality.
