Limassol, February 28, 2018– At “Home of the Cyprus Marine Club”, Epsilon, a powerful presentation was given by Vice President, Technology & Business Development, Hellenic, Black Sea Region & Middle East – Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore Division - Dr. John Kokarakis entitled : “TACKLING THE TSUNAMI OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS. CHALLENGES OF IMPLEMENTATION”.
The presentation was followed by cocktail reception opened for Members of the Club.

Dr.John Kokarakis in his impactful and passionate presentation focused on issues like:
BWMS & Low Sulphur fuel requirements. Potential lack of technology for efficient and fair compliance, need for innovative forms of propulsion of fuels, crew training, compliance enforcement and control. What would be the impact on shipping? Would the shipping industry respond to challenges ahead? What would be the impact on shipping? Would the shipping industry respond to challenges ahead? What procedure should shipping follow to enhance its image as a leader of green technologies and the most efficient mode of transportation?

After the presentation, The Cyprus Marine Club’s President, Capt. Eberhard Koch delivered a short welcome address updating members about Club’s recent developments and 2018 events to come. The Club is now consisting of 61 corporate and 10 individual members and the number is steadily increasing.
The AGM / Elections to BOD of Cyprus Marine Club was scheduled for 15th May 2018 and official notice will be given in April.
