14.10.2026 | Save The Date. THE CMC COUNTRYSIDE ESCAPE

14.11.2026 | CMC Countryside Escape – The Farmakas Experience

Saturday, 14 November 2026 | Potamos tis Militsas, Farmakas

Join the Cyprus Marine Club for a day of mountain air, village traditions, delicious Cypriot food and wonderful company. Our Countryside Escape is an opportunity to spend time together in a relaxed setting, discover local flavours and enjoy the warm hospitality of Farmakas.

Our programme

09:45 hrs – Bus departure from the Four Seasons area

We will travel together from Limassol to Farmakas. The exact meeting point will be shared before the event.

The fun begins the moment we board the bus!

We encourage all members to travel with us and enjoy the scenic journey to Farmakas together, although taking the bus is optional.

With a generous lunch and plenty of opportunities to raise a glass, we thought the driving was best left to a professional! The bus will keep our day relaxed and our journey safe – your only responsibility is to enjoy yourselves.

Around 11:30 – Arrival and halloumi-making workshop with a (first) glass of wine

We begin with one of Cyprus’s best-loved traditions: discovering how halloumi is made. A lovely opportunity to learn about the craft behind this local favourite!

After the workshop – a short hike to Ag. Giorgos Church

A single-aisled basilica with a gabled, pointed and tiled wooden roof. It is built with stone from the surrounding mountains and was built in the early 18th century.

13:30 – 15:30 – A generous Cypriot lunch with wine pairing

At the beautiful Potamos tis Militsas, we will settle in for a rich Cypriot lunch with wine pairing, lively conversation and plenty of time to enjoy each other’s company.

We may also have the opportunity to watch a shoushouko-making demonstration (paired with zivania), discovering how this traditional grape-based sweet is prepared.

16:00 – 16:30 – Departure from Farmakas village

With everyone well fed and in high spirits, the fun continues on the bus ride home – expect even more laughter, and perhaps a spontaneous singalong!

*What to wear

Comfortable, casual clothing and sturdy walking shoes suitable for the village walk and hike. Bring a warm layer for the mountain air, and come ready for a cosy, informal day together.

We look forward to sharing a wonderful day with you – full of local traditions, autumn scenery, good food and the friendship at the heart of our Club.
